Nothin’ But Girls 12.2

Hey there Friends of The Zales!  Welcome back!  Last time, Lavender got married!  And some horsie things – but not much else.  This time – well, it’s a bit of an adventure.  Sort of.

Let us proceed with…da da DUMM!  ZALE CHECK:

I went ahead and assigned this bed to him.  Since Lavender doesn’t sleep, I didn’t feel obligated to make them a couples suite.  When Sam and Krypton pass, I’ll let Kyle move up there.  This will do for now.

Just after the Zale Check, I decide to go ahead and try to grab a couple SimSelves that are .sim flies.  With help from Nate (phyrcracker93) and the rest of you lovely readers I was successful in grabbing Pink’s SimSelf (FINALLY!) and Nate too.  I tossed you all in a two bedroom house.  Have fun with that.

Hee hee hee.  Oh – and we also have Sammy Sama and Julia – as well as Jasmine Miller and Anne-Marie Kultura.  Pretend I wasn’t lazy and linked all those.

Just hang on, Lavender is on her way.

Then my game crashed.  I reloaded and ALL my settings were gone.  It was full screen, low graphics, memories enabled, supernaturals on, celebrities ETC.  AND when I opened the Zale file, I got a pop-up message about missing items that had been replaced.  Say WHAT?!?  What did I do?  AH!  I guess we’ll have to see what happens…

Well, this time around, Lavender meets Sammy and Julia.

Lav gains entrance to the house, there’s a pop up about a Spring festival and *pOOf* Sammy Spins into food merchant attire and exits.

Aw, she’s an adorable food merchant.

Everyone else gets on fine in their ceiling-free house.

Julia also joins the food merchant lifestyle.

Lavender was still at their house when Hawk arrived at his new home.

Aw, he’s a cutie little peanut!  I’m sorry I didn’t know if he was a cat or dog from the pop-up.  He’s adorbs.

I buy the family four sets of bunk-beds, and a few doggie items for baby Hawk.

I even have Lavender fill the food dish before leaving.

Back at the estate, I start to notice the “missing items”…

When I first saw this, I thought maybe end tables had vanished…leaving “small ivy” on the floor… I wasn’t sure though…

Hmm, this isn’t right.

What’s with the random toy box?  I think that might’ve been the walker.  (FALSE: It was the play pen)  I’m missing tons of items – not just store items, but regular ones too.  I wonder what I did?

And then my whole computer went a little haywire.  In my attempts to make the game run better, I seemed to have really borked things up.  I’ll spare you the details, but I did a system restore and then reviewed my Zale save files.

I’m not sure who told me about this, I think it was Jenn, but I keep four running saves of the current house.  Zales in AP 1, 2, 3, and 4.  Each time I do a “save as” I replace the next save.  The most recent Zale file had all the missing things, as well as the next most recent… but the third one I checked had all the correct items, and was right about where I started this post.  Lav was at the spa, Sam and Kyle asleep, and Krypton was about to get in the bath.  It does mean the SimSelves are not in the game, I’ll try again some other time.  Right now, I’m just happy to have things back to normal.

HA!  I thought it might’ve been tables – but no, game just replaced my lovely giant palms with tiny little ivy plants.  Sure…

But – I started playing, or trying to play over two hours ago, and now I’m right back where I started with the Sim Check.  This game is a ton of work.  Labor of love.  Stupid.

Then I took a cute video of Bailey playing with the horse ball – but I didn’t upload it so you’ll just have to settle for this:

The serious storm has spooked them, however.

But Lav is here to calm them.

Since Lavender cannot ride while pregnant (stupid) she maintains her relationship with them by keeping them clean and groomed.

I hope the garden thaws soon.

We’re running a bit low on horse carrots.

Being on maternity leave, I have Lavender focus on reports.  She’s almost friends with Imogene Pelly, so we’re going to pay her a visit.

Nice digs!  But no one was home except the dog.  Dang.

I decided people might be over at the festival.

And I was right!  Imogene is here too.

We get our interview on, and should have two more people to write up reports on.

I wanted to see if she could review the festival, but she couldn’t.

Back at home Sam enjoys some wedding cake.

…one, I’ve never done that before and two, I don’t think she’s a very nice Sim.  It didn’t even really damage their relationship.  Funny.

It’s a girl!  I can’t think of a theme or anything, so I just name her Meg, and she rolls loner and easily impressed.

But it’s still exciting to meet the first of a new generation.

It’s Love Day, so I send the household to the festival.

…AND she was invited to a part at the Pelly place, so we’ll do that instead.

I couldn’t find anything to do at this stupid party, until I discovered a radio upstairs.

Hey Friends!  Last time Lavender took over and struggled to find a mate, but this time well… if you can’t tell from the title, we found someone!  Let’s get to it!

’bout time for Leslie and Levi to grow up!  Rather interesting, Leslie was like 8 days younger than Levi.  I got a pop-up for Levi’s birthday, and thought Leslie would be right after that, but NOPE, so I checked her stats, and she was WAY younger!  I was all “I thought they were twins?” and had to go re-read their birth post to see… anyhoo…

Worth noting that she grew up in one of best EA outfits I’ve seen in a LONG time.

This is Lavender’s cute “athletic” outfit that I made for her.

I keep forgetting to have her change into it to go riding.  But ti’s been so cold, she’s been wearing her outerwear.

I’m just so happy with Lavender and the horses.

It was definitely a nice turn for the Zales.

Hmm, that dude Barrington, who Lavender met through online dating, and then stalked to his home only to find out he’s married, had a daughter.

I do not approve of their use of my name.

Silly baby still can’t nap with her momma.

I thought it might’ve been the wall light, so I scooted it all the way over by the hay (and it’s not snowing inside… stupid barn) but that didn’t help either.

And then, even though she routefails half a dozen times, with NO action on my part…

She managed to curl up and fall asleep.  Maybe she just can’t be TOLD to nap, and has to nap on her own.  Oh, I should probably say, it’s an ISBI, but I control the horses and pets.  Always have.

Bailey was well-rested and his exercise need was low, so I had Lav take him on a snowy midnight ride.  They ended up here.

I couldn’t quite get proper pictures, because when I hit TAB all these tree branches were in the way, but it was stunning and ethereal.  Truly amazing.

Lavender orders a pizza and threw a party!  Samali helps out by getting the pizza, carrying it all the way around the house, then serving it next to the BBQ on the back patio.  😐

She brought presents, so she can stay.  And also, there’s that Shaun guy.  I’m going to let Lav try ONE MORE TIME with him.  This is also when I realized that Levi and Leslie had vanished.  There were not on the list of Sims available for invite.

Lavender calls everyone to open presents.

I found the three sisters sitting together adorable.  But then my game crashed!  I thought I’d lost a ton of playtime, but when I restarted it was just before the party!

Okay, party take two – this time it appears that Lilac is the one who’s been busy in the future.

And this woman is our party crasher this time.

Her name is Vallari Chandra.

Then my game crashed AGAIN.  Fine – no party for you.

Lav still had the wish locked in to order a pizza, so I still did that a third time, then sent her and Lacey off for a ride, but HARK!  A MALE!

Ride aborted.  Begin operation seduce pizza man.  His name is Kyle Sleater.

Okay Lav, he’s a little boring – maybe even faceone – but let’s just see, shall we?

And my game crashed.  AGAIN.  I went and cleared my cache files, did a little clean up, and it definitely ran better.

However, since my game had been so finicky, I had saved JUST after meeting Kyle.

So on the plus side, we get a boyfriend out of him, this time around.

Back to Lavender’s date, I decide that I need to get Kyle out of his work clothes.  I have them head on over to the public pool and make them dive in.

I was surprised to see that hair hiding under his hat.

After their outing to the pool, Kyle and Lavender return to her house.

Kyle may have gotten a little tan while at the pool.  Hee hee hee… I had to change his face some, he was absolutely Faceone.  I sculpted his nose, cheekbones, chin and mouth, and I obviously darkened his skin.  He had those purple-ish eyes all on his own, however.  I think he looks amazingly handsome – if I do say so myself.  I know it’s a little cheaty – and I was planning on taking Lavender to the future to spouse hunt, but the two of them genuinely were getting along so well.

Phew!  Close call!  I keep getting fortunate.  Ike and Tahiya got married while she was pregnant too – just finished in the nick of time!  Lavender immediately wishes for a boy – so do I!

She scurries off to tell her mom and dad.

I decide to go with Lavender, after much thought.  As much as I want a human, and I’m SO TIRED of the aliens, I also don’t want a face clone of Samali.  Lavender is a mixture of her parents, and with he equestrian trait, means HORSES!

On the plus side, I downloaded story progression, so hopefully Livid and the rest of the spares don’t just languish and fade away.

Ignore the palm from inside merging through the wall to be outside… I keep meaning to move that.  And with that, we say adieu to a couple of spares.  Livid and Lilac have moved out.

It’s awfully stormy, let’s put this little foal away.

She has the “missing her mom” moodlet, which is just dreadful, but before too long Lav is her dear friend and she doesn’t mind being away from her mom anymore!  Yay!

For some reason, she can’t “nap” in her stall.  She gets a routefail and then the action cancels.  I reset her and it worked for a little while… but it’s very annoying!  Any ideas?  I tried both stalls.

I keep finding, like an entire herd, of wild horses on the lot.

I mean, I don’t blame them, the horse set-up here is pretty posh… but they lag my lot a bit.  I need to put up the “no stray horses” gnome.

Moments later, our dear old fella Bailey is here.

With Lacey unable to be ridden (because FOAL!) Lav takes Bailey out for an early morning ride.

You know, when I eventually DO have a human TH?  I’m gonna feel like they’re TIRED ALL THE TIME.  I’m hereby completely SPOILED by aliens.  Normally if you had a Sim out, after a long day of work, and their hopeful date says “try back in five hours” the night is a loss, your Sim won’t make it that long!  Lav though?  She can go all night!

Sam is adorable and as sweet as ever making waffles.  She’d rolled a wish about a decade ago to make “great” waffles.  These actually turned out to grant that wish!

I was very happy when that happened.
