About

My name is Heather.  And I’m a Simaholic.

Hi Heather

Hi.  It all began when I heard about this newfangled people simulator.  I asked my dad if he would buy it for me.  He said he would, but that I’d have to wait until a trip to Costco.  Yes, all the way back in 2000!  It was a long, agonizing wait.  THREE DAYS.  I have, since unwrapping that fancy box and meeting Bob and Betty Newbie (And buying them a stereo?), been completely enamored with all things Sims.  Time has obviously passed, and I’m probably way too old to be such an avid Simmer, but at least I don’t have to wait for my dad to buy me things anymore 🙂

I am the perfect consumer of The Sims, as I buy every expansion pack – even if I can’t imagine wanting its content (ie, Makin’ Magic).  But, even in my darkest simming hour – I never bought Katy Perry’s Sweet Treats.  There is hope for me.  For now. (UPDATE: Now there’s this movie one, I don’t want a bunch of costumes?  Anyone have it yet?)

I play base game, no mods, no Custom Content.  (UPDATE: I added story progression, overwatch, error trap)  I know I miss out on quite a bit, but I also experience a lot less problems with game play in general.  I do wish I had more people in my towns – and a much better story progression, but it is what it is.

I have stumbled across so many fantastic players/bloggers – that they inspire my gaming as well as my desire to maybe, just maybe, attempt to document my own experiences.  So here we go!

Haha! I seriously think you can’t possibly be too old to be a simaholic, if only because my guess from this story is that you’re a few years younger than I am :).

BTW: I picked up the costumes stuff pack on sale on Origin at some point. I thought I’d love it — I love dressing my insane sims up in absurd outfits. I’ve used it some, but not as much as I thought.

I’m 33! I also managed to get my hands on the movie stuff. I like some of it quite a bit. And a lot of it would be great for storytelling… I just like seeing all those little dots on The Sims Launcher lit up. It was on sale too 🙂 I want that Roaring Heights neighborhood.
